We believe...

SCRIPTURE: We believe the Bible is the authoritative and infallible Word of God, the chief authority in Christian living and God's complete revelation about his redemptive will. The Old and New Testaments were written by men “carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 1:16, 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

GOD: We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal in glory and, through their distinct roles, serve in the work of creation, the execution of the divine will, and the redemption of humanity. (Genesis 1:2, 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 3:16, 10:30, 14:26; Hebrews 1:3)

HUMANITY: We believe humans were created in the image and likeness of God. But through sin, humans became subject to death and the power of Satan. Humanity is helpless, totally depraved, and is in desperate need of divine grace. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 1:21-25, 3:10-18, 8:6-8; Ephesians 2:1-3)

JESUS CHRIST: We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. In his earthly life, He was both true God and true man. We believe in Jesus’ sinless life and His miracles. We believe that He died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and in His bodily resurrection. We believe He has ascended to the right hand of the Father to be our mediator and that He will return personally, both bodily and visibly, to establish His kingdom. (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:35, 24:50-51; John 10:38, 14:1-4; Acts 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Timothy 2:5)

SALVATION: We believe that salvation is a gift from God. We are saved through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ – not through our own efforts but by God's great grace. This salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, who took on flesh and became sin for us, dying in our place and taking the punishment for sin. We are saved through faith as we recognize our need for Christ's atoning work. This salvation results in eternal life. (John 3:14-18, 14:6; Romans 5:6-9, 10:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7; Hebrews 10:10; 1 Peter 3:18)

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: We believe that all believers – those who are saved by grace – should demonstrate their faith in Christ by following Him in obedience in baptism, which signifies his death, burial, and resurrection. We believe that Christians should no longer be conformed to the ways of this present world but transformed so that Jesus Christ lives through them. Christians should be characterized by lives of faith, truth, purity, and love – as people living under the ownership of God. We believe in the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers and empowers them to live godly lives and to become witnesses of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 22:37-40; John 16:13, 17:16-19; Acts 1:8, 2:38; Romans 6:4-8, 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Galatians 2:20, 3:27; Ephesians 2:10; 2 Timothy 1:7; James 2:17-18)

THE CHURCH: We believe the church is the body and bride of Christ, composed of members who are united in their faith in the saving power of His blood. Through the Spirit, believers are baptized into this body – both Jews and Gentiles – and are united under the headship of Christ. Each local church, as its members are variously gifted by the Holy Spirit, is responsible only to God in the matters of faith and Christian teaching. Following God's authoritative Word – the Bible – the church is commanded to love one another and to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:18-20; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27-28; Ephesians 4:11-13, 15-16; Colossians 1:24)

THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD: We believe that upon Christ's return in glory there will be a  resurrection of the dead. The saved will rise to eternal blessedness and the lost to everlasting separation from God. (Matthew 25:31-33; 1 Corinthians 15:20-26; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:3-8)
